Brokerage Support Specialist

McCurdy Real Estate & Auction is seeking an experienced, licensed real estate agent to join our team as a Brokerage Support Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on tackling unique challenges and achieves fulfillment from participating in sometimes complex real estate transactions. This role focuses more on the administrative aspects of real estate instead of sales since it supports the senior members of our Sales Team. The ideal candidate is a confident self-starter with strong attention to detail and customer service capabilities.

McCurdy is a full-service auction and real estate brokerage firm. The Brokerage Support Specialist will assist with premier residential, commercial/industrial, rural residential, agricultural/farm & ranch, and multifamily properties, as well as investment properties for real estate investors. The role provides back-office support for our Sales Team since they are frequently out of the office meeting with clients and inspecting properties. However, this position occasionally accompanies Sales Team members at properties or meets with clients as needed. As a member of the Pre-Auction Department, the Brokerage Support Specialist supports the business and works closely with other staff, agents, auctioneers, buyers/sellers, and vendors. The position also provides administrative support to the firm’s General Counsel on matters relating to title work, contracts, and research.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee details of the firm’s inventory of traditional/private treaty real estate listings and assist with listing-side duties.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for agent support for affiliated licensees outside the Wichita market.
  • Assist with 2nd tier lead calls and walk-in customers when a licensed staff member is required.
  • Facilitate in-person bookings/signings.
  • Field agent questions and provide support.
  • Assist with calling incomplete and registered bidders as requested.
  • Host open houses as needed, and host sellers during auction closing events.
  • Enter data and documentation in our data management system, “The Mothership.”
  • Perform property searches and research.
  • Assist with occasional showings.
  • Support the Closing Team as requested with setting-up inspections, sending offers, and sending contracts.
  • Review folders and documents for compliance.
  • Order preliminary title reports.
  • Spreadsheet preparation and data management, including pro forma financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Preparation for agent presentations, multi-property auctions, and live auctions as needed.
  • Act as a backup for incoming calls or front desk coverage for the Pre-Auction Team.
  • Send documents as requested for property information requests, private treaty & auction contracts, amendments, etc.
  • Facilitate special projects as needed.
  • Assist with probate and foreclosure spreadsheet documentation.
  • Personal property auction support, including Mothership data entry, spreadsheet maintenance and management, UCC search requests and invoice tracking, and processing vehicle titles.
  • Monitor, manage, request and respond to auction email inbox, text request messages, Message Me/Call Log buyer questions, lead call follow-ups, missing documents/items or corrections as need.
  • Pre-Auction coordination for complex auctions.
  • Act as a backup for Pre-Auction Coordinators and Closing Team as needed during times of heavy activity.
  • Work closely with Pre-Auction, Closing, and Legal to become proficient in title work, court documents, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred.
  • 5+ years of full-time experience in real estate, banking/lending, or at a title company.
  • Kansas Real Estate Salesperson’s license, or willingness to obtain a license.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite of software products and ability to learn industry and company-specific software tools.
  • Must be a natural collaborator and detail-oriented self-starter who can juggle priorities and manage resources to prioritize tasks, move transactions forward, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to occasionally work evenings or weekends, as needed, to provide support for time-sensitive transactions, after-hours communications or events, or urgent issues.
