Real Estate Transaction Coordinator Position DescriptionThe Real Estate Transaction Coordinator at McCurdy Real Estate & Auction is part of a team of passionate professionals responsible for assisting customers and working with title companies, cooperating agents, lenders, and others, from the time a property sells at auction through the real estate closing. Founded in Wichita, KS, in 1982, McCurdy has grown to become one of the Midwest’s leading auction firms. McCurdy conducts more than 500 auctions annually on behalf of sellers ranging from individual homeowners to Fortune 500 companies.
Position Responsibilities
Contracting for real estate transactions – 70%- Assist the Sales Team with contracting for real estate auctions and private treaty transactions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for buyers, sellers, and other parties, from contracting through closing.
- Escalate challenges and issues to Closing Department Manager, Auction Manager, or Managing Broker as needed.
- Become familiar with all standard REALTORS® of South Central Kansas (RSCK) and existing custom McCurdy contracts and forms.
- Provide superior customer service so everyone involved chooses McCurdy as their provider of choice for future real estate transactions.
- Learn and follow compliance requirements throughout the organization with a particular focus on real estate contracting and closing.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, reduce risk, and improve customer service.
- Navigate and negotiate to successfully close challenging transactions in conjunction with Auction Managers.
- Ensure timely and accurate document preparation and execution for regulatory compliance.
- Understand and follow RSCK rules and regulations.
- Review title work and other transaction documents to identify and solve problems with obtaining merchantable title for both real estate and personal property (mobile homes or other property subject to UCC/lien filings).
- Observe members of the Sales Team on bookings to learn what the Sales Team is doing and recommend enhancements to better refine business processes.
- Problem-solve as requested by the Executive Team.
- Monitor changes impacting real estate and the auction industry.
- Participate in business development in conjunction with the Sales Team.
- Network regularly with real estate companies, attorneys, bankers, institutions, and corporate sellers, advocating for the McCurdy brand and processes.
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
- Kansas Real Estate Salesperson’s license, or ability to quickly obtain license.
- Must be a detail-oriented self-starter able to independently move transactions forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Able to occasionally work evenings or weekends, as needed, to provide support for time-sensitive transactions, after-hours auctions, or urgent issues.
